About Us
Who are we and what do we do?
Bridge It is a new charity which evolved from a successful social enterprise called Home Share Melbourne. Bridge It aims to create solutions to homelessness and housing stress. We do this through focusing on creating “homes” not houses and connecting people to support within their home and in the wider community.
Why we Exist
We want to play a part in ending homelessness in Australia. No one should have to sleep on the street because of a lack of affordable or appropriate housing. We exist to create housing solutions for people facing homelessness, and those who have limited housing options. We address the key drivers of homelessness being lack of affordable housing, lack of connection and support, and ultimately break the cycle of homelessness long term.
How do we do it?
Through a range of programs. Our initial pilots include The Cocoon and The Sanctuary.
